Former Blue Peter presenter John Leslie has denied sexually assaulting a woman at a party. The alleged non-consensual touching is said to have taken place on December 5, 2008. The former TV presenter, who became a household name in the 1980s on This Morning, Wheel of Fortune and Blue Peter, today appeared at Southwark Crown Court. Leslie, 54, walked into the courtroom alongside his dad, wearing a grey suit with a white-collared blue shirt and dark blue tie. He spoke only to confirm his full name, John Leslie Stott, date of birth and nationality before entering a not guilty plea during the ten minute hearing. Appearing at Westminster Magistrate's Court last month, his solicitor Grant Ambridge said: "It's disputed that the offence took place. " He has been released on unconditional bail to next appear at Southwark Crown Court on October 3. A three day trial is set to start on March 16 next year. Leslie joined Blue Peter in 1989 and remained with the children's show until 1994. In 1998 he took over from Bradley Walsh as the main presenter of Wheel Of Fortune, before joining This Morning a year later. After leaving TV, he began working for Radio Forth in Scotland and as a property developer in Edinburgh.
