Wake up to the soft rumble of elephants passing by your bedroom veranda.

Your time includes participating in feedings, heading to the river to dump buckets of water on the pachyderms to cool them off, and observing them as they get to enjoy life free from work. The highlight of the program includes the morning walk through the sanctuary where your experienced guide shares stories about many of the elephants on a private walk and lets you watch them as they socialize with each other. At night fall asleep listening to the elephants chat with each other.

A new approach to animal conservation allowing elephants to live in a more natural environment, rather than being ridden every day. We are very happy to welcome this new approach and wish to share this experience with you.

The Surin Project is a unique and innovative concept aimed at improving the living conditions of captive Asian elephants by providing economic sustainability for their owners through responsible volunteer tourism.

Elephant Nature Park works with the Cambodia Wildlife Sanctuary to protect and conserve 1 million acres of jungle habitat, approximately one hour north of Angkor Wat.

The project spans 25,000 acres and aims to protect the land and all of the native species, flora and fauna, that call it home, including tigers, monkeys, buffaloes, and of course, the Asian elephant.

Initially, this project will focus on tree planting and restoring the region´s forest and combating the illegal logging that has taken place. Other goals for the Elephant Sanctuary Cambodia are plant and wildlife identification, seed collecting, trail-making and educational outreach. Be a part of this project from its grass-roots!

For more than 20 years, Karen tribes have rented their elephants to Elephant Camps because they could no longer legally use the Elephants for logging work. The Karen people have traditionally worked with Elephants but now the tradition is fading.

After seeing other Elephant owners change their way of caring for their Elephants, a group of Elephant owners in Mae Wang area, just south of Chiang Mai city, have agreed to stop renting their Elephants to the trekking industry

Hope for Elephants is a specialist single day small group visit. Continuing our goal of helping educate elephant tourist camp owners into an understanding of how to treat the animals under their care with love and dignity. We are expanding this theme to many different camps and will be taking visitors to show progress. We vary the camps we visit.

A full day visit. An elephant camp neighboring our park has decided to try out our concept of care. So now three lucky female elephants have dumped their trekking seats and their mahouts hooks have been cast aside. Only small groups each day enjoy the honour of observing their freedom and happiness; they walk, they scratch, they swim, they eat, they dust bathe... all at their own pace..May this be the start of a new trend that catches on in the Mae Taeng valley and elsewhere.

A small group “saddle off” program in cooperation with a tribal settlement to the south-west of Chiang Mai city. Bathing with Elephants - Elephant food preparation and Feeding - Short forest walk (around 30 minutes) - Vegetarian lunch -Tribal hospitality. This trip differs from other “saddle off programs” as this trip offers just a short walk, ideal for any age group.

While Elephant Nature Park is known for our rescued herd there are a lot of other animals under our care. Our Dog Rescue Project is just one of these and volunteers from around the world are always welcome to come and lend a hand

Some elephants find it very hard to mix with other elephants and in order to help them, we want to love them with intense freedom and affection.

When elephants settle into our care, they build trust and love and this is achieved by humans showing them love, respect and care in a different way to their past lives in riding camps by mahouts, who have known no better than to treat them harshly and with force.
