A hurricane watch remains in effect for Puerto Rico as Tropical Storm Dorian churns closer to the island.

The current cone of uncertainty track for Dorian includes the Tampa Bay region, South Florida and the Jacksonville area. However, it remains too early to say to what extent it could affect the state.

Maximum sustained winds are nearly 50 mph, with higher gusts, and the storm is moving northwest at 13 mph, according to the National Hurricane Center's latest advisory.

For days, we've been watching Invest 98-L -- it has developed into Tropical Depression Six.

It is a 35-mph storm located about midway between the U.S. and Bermuda, moving east at 3 mph, according to the National Hurricane Center's latest advisory.

Kelli Bennett was on a beach in the Bahamas with her husband when they received the news every parent fears.

“I remember falling to my knees, crying and screaming,” she said. “I just prayed that God would not let him die because we knew it was a very bad accident.”

Five hours later, Bennett was by her son’s hospital bedside where 14-year-old Caleb had been placed under a medically-induced coma.
